Springfield, MA
Convention Tips and Important Information:

For all attendees new or old we hope you are as excited as we are for this year’s 60th Convention!!!  So here is a little information to make this year’s convention successful!

Theme: All around the world, Service without borders
Dates: April 3rd- 5th, 2009
Location: Springfield, MA

Dress Code:  As always, at DECON we aim to spread the word about Key Club as well as have fun while meeting other Key clubbers from around the New England District. All the meetings during Friday, Saturday and Sunday are business casual. Business casual means that girls should be wearing both a skirt or dress pants and a nice top. Boys should be wearing dress pants as well as a dress shirt. Business casual does NOT mean jeans!!!!

For Friday night’s general meeting, the dress is business casual as well. During Friday night’s dance the dress is casual, meaning that you can wear jeans and a tee shirt if you would like. Please feel free to dress with this year’s theme- all around the world. So bring your lederhosen and kimonos’.  For Saturday nights award session and dance the dress is formal, so please dress appropriately.

Dances: For both the Friday night dance and the Saturday night dance, there will be either a $1.00 admission or a donation of a canned good. Also, for those not interested in dancing the night away, there will be a game room opened both Friday and Saturday night for your entertainment as well.

Change Wars: During the service fair ( which takes place Saturday during the day), there will be jars set up representing each state in the New England District to put into. The goal of change wars is to raise money for District Projects. So please bring your change and fill up for states jar! You can put change in your jar to get points and put dollar bills in other states jars so they lose points.

Board Auction: During the Saturday night awards ceremony there will be a board auction of several board members from the New England Board. The money raised from the auction will go to district projects. So bring some money to bid on a board member you think is cute J If you win the bidding you get to dance with them at the formal dance.
